IVCA UK-China Programme

I have been speaking recently at the IVCA UK-China Programme Seminars in the East Midlands, Scotland and West Midlands. I have used this opportunity to share some business experience I have gathered during my time working in China and in the UK. I didn't want to emphasise the Do's and Dont's, but instead highlighted a few points to be aware of.
  • Cultural etiquette
  • Business approach
  • Get a good Chinese business partner/employee
  • Meeting appointments
  • Follow up phone calls
  • Red tape
  • Green channels
  • Change attitude
Think China, Think Business

China represents business opportunities, but many people do not know where to start.

Do You Know China?

Before throwing yourself into deep water, without knowing how to swim, you should really ask yourself "Do I know China?" There are 56 ethnic groups in China and most of them have their own culture, language and religion.

Are You A China Expert?

Do not expect everyone to be a China expert, but it is always helpful if you know a bit of Chinese History, which shapes the Chinese Philosophy, Values and Principles. China today has a tremendous achievement, however there are some areas which need to be improved. That's where I see tomorrow's business opportunities.
